Wrexham Road Development

The development of over 1300 houses on land adjacent to the Wrexham Road will have a significant affect on the amount of water in the Balderton Brook. There is consultation at the moment on the development with a closing date of 16 November. The drainage from the development is dismissed at para 3.32. Cheshire West and Chester Council could save Saltney from any potential flooding by insisting that the run-off water is taken via a pipeline along the edge of the Southerly By Pass and into the River Dee almost opposite to the Huntington Water Treatment Plant. It would also be possible to take the surface water from the Business Park and the Park and Ride the same way.
